The maximum temperature of 37.9°C (100.2°F) recorded on the 10th August was the highest ever recorded here. Even at 0900hrs on the 10th the temperature was 31.6°C (88.9°F).

 

Month as a whole
A warm dry and sunny month. Second warmest and second driest since records began here in 1979. The average maximum temperature of 26.1°C was the highest since records began. However areas to the west of here were much drier with Royston, Herts, recording only 0.7mm of rain.
