General Inference-A deepening depression to the west of the British Isles is moving northeast. Weather will be fair today apart from local showers in Scotland. Rain will spread eastwards across the country tonight and tomorrow morning. A renewal of gales is probable in the northwest. Mild.

Winds SSW ahead of fronts and NW behind.The warmest place at 0600 was Guernsey on 50°F (10.0°C) and the coldest was Birr Castle on 35°F (1.7°C). Overnight the lowest temperature was 31°F (-0.6°C) at W.Raynham and the highest 45°F (7.2°C) at Portland Bill. The highest daytime maximum for the previous day was 53°F (11.7°C) at Valentia and Blacksod Point, the lowest 38°F (3.3°C) at Cranfield, Defford and Eskdalemuir.
